Black Hole Discovered in Reno
RENO, APRIL 24, 2009
PRESS RELEASE – BLACK HOLE DISCOVERED IN RENO
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Scientists of the Nevada Astronomical Society say that they have conclusive evidence of a Black Hole in Reno, Nevada. Black Holes are well known to the scientific community as being so dense that no material, not even light, can escape them. Black Holes also draw in any material that is near them. The evidence for the Black Hole began to surface one year ago, on April 26, 2008. Astronomers around the world are eagerly watching the situation, knowing that the discovery of a Black Hole on earth is a major event for the scientific community.
The evidence consists of the disappearance of a ballot box at the Republican State Convention in April of 2008. The state party leadership halted the election for delegates to the National Republican Convention in the middle of the counting of the ballot box and the box was last seen being taken away by Beverly Willard and a phalanx of people who undoubtedly had the best interests of the party uppermost in their minds. The explanation at the time was that the ballot box was taken to the safe of the Peppermill Hotel where it would be locked up until the dispute over the abrupt ending of the state convention was settled. However, the party has never issued an official explanation of the fate of the ballot box or the results of the election. Whether it was ever opened and whether it still resides in the safe of the Peppermill Hotel is still not known.
Dr. Fred Jones, President of the Astronomical Society, and a professor at the University of Nevada, Reno, made the announcement of the discovery after a society committee had considered the evidence for one year. According to Dr. Jones, because the party leadership is made up of such distinguished and reputable people as Sue Lowden, Joe Brown, Beverly Willard and others, it is inconceivable that they could have failed to provide an explanation and an appropriate disposition of the missing ballot box. Thus there can be only one possible explanation consistent with the evidence. The ballot box must have been swallowed by a Black Hole. Scientists throughout the world are excited about a Black Hole being discovered on earth and are convinced that it must be true, given that the sterling reputations of Sue Lowden and others in the Nevada Republican Party seem to rule out other possible explanations. It seems to be the consensus of opinion that the discovery of a black hole in a location so conveniently located for study may reveal important secrets about the characteristics of Black Holes and possibly about the origin of the universe.
Typical of the scientific reaction overseas was that of Professor Boris Mendelev of Moscow State University. “We are very anxious to join in the study of the Black Hole in Reno. A Black Hole that can make a box disappear is something that is very new in the world and it deserves careful study. We had many people disappear in the days of Stalin but of course this is an entirely different situation.”
